Samsung Galaxy S3 Neo Review

Samsung Galaxy S3 Neo

Galaxy S3 Neo

Samsung seems to be on a roll. The Samsung India website has now listed a new handset called the Galaxy S3 Neo. In the past we have seen Samsung calling ‘low-powered’ versions of already-existing devices as ‘Neo’.After nearly three years of releasing Samsung S3, Samsung announced and released Samsung S3 Neo as a successor to the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Samsung Galaxy S3 mini in June 2014.Dual SIM variant of Samsung Galaxy S3, named Samsung Galaxy S3 Neo Plus has been priced at Rs. 15,000.Samsung calls its low powered vesions of there already launched phones as Neo.The device’s specs aren’t anything special, but what has truly popularized this device in certain countries is the fact that it has dual SIM capabilities. Dual SIM smartphones have been around for years, and are devices that run on a GSM network and have two SIM slots, just as it sounds. The reason behind the dual SIM devices is so that you can have two phone numbers at once, which can make life much easier for people who travel abroad frequently, or for consumers who just want one device for personal use, and one for work-related use.Now lets get to our review.

Our Review

Samsung S3 Neo is nearly the same shape and size of the old Samsung S3. It is 136.6 mm tall, 70.8 mm wide, 8.6 mm thick and only 132 grams; which means you can hold this phone using one hand but you need both your hands to type or scroll down the screen. It comes in the same plastic design of the S3 that you can get it in either white or blue.Samsung Galaxy S3 Neo  features an 8 MP camera at the back, which was fine when Galaxy S3 was launched two years back, but won’t make the cut if you are looking for a camera centric phone in this price range. The internal storage has been reduced to 8 GB compared to the predecessor but you can extend it to another 64 GB using MicroSD support.
The Samsung Galaxy S3 Neo comes with Android v4.3 OS (Jelly Bean) and packs Quad Core processor clocked at 1.2GHz processor supported by 1.5GB of RAM under the hood. You can even command the smartphone to answer or reject calls, capture videos and photos, increase or decrease volume and postpone the alarm thanks to the presence of S Voice feature. The Direct Call is another smart option. In case you decide to call a person while messaging him or her, all you need to do is hold the device near your ear.Processor is not good enough to deliver good and fluent performance while using high demanding games.Samsung S3 Neo is available with a Super AMOLED capacitive, multi-touch screen HD ( 720 x 1,280 pixels) display offering vibrant visual experience with a rich pixel density of 306 ppi.It packs a 2100mAh Li-ion battery which is not expected to last long. The Samsung S3 Neo could be a good option for your new smartphone, if you’re not a heavy user of your phone.Samsung has tried to include the best of everything. Shoot, stream and share high quality games and videos while transferring files or executing official tasks in any other window.
